Tree of light opening

Johannesburg, November 22, 2006

It is that time of the year once again where we turn on the light of hope for those who are less fortunate. Hospice Witwatersrand in partnership with the Star, and the Johannesburg Zoo invite every family in Gauteng to the opening of Tree of Light 2006 at the Johannesburg zoo. The event is in support of those who have lost their loved ones and those who are terminally ill and in the care of Hospice.

The Tree of Light will take place as follow:

Date: Take place from 26 November till 24 December

Time: Between 5pm – 9pm

Place: Johannesburg Zoo

The public can support this worthy cause by buying The Tree of Light globes. People can buy them by contacting Hospice on 0861 Hospice or visit their website on www.tree-of-light.co.za

The opening night on the 26 November 2006 will be free-of-charge from 5pm until 9pm. Thereafter, zoo entry fees will apply: adults R34, children and pensioners R20 and parking: cars R10 and buses R20.

Just bring a picnic basket or enjoy a meal at Café Fino. The Zoo Brass Band will be entertaining on the 2nd and 9th December. You will also be the first people to see our new Pygmy hippo enclosure during night time. We hope to see you at the Johannesburg Zoo this festive season!
