Be afraid, be very afraid - Howloween at the Zoo

Johannesburg, October 21, 2005

Can you survive over 2000 wild and dangerous animals during the night of creepy and spooky Halloween? If the answer is “YES”,

relax and join us at the Johannesburg Zoo as we celebrate Halloween.

As you might know the origin of Halloween came from Celts, who lived in Scotland, they believed that the Lord of Death release souls

back to Earth on Oct 31. The Celts wore scary costumes because they believed that then the evil spirits wouldn't recognize them as

humans and wouldn't mess with them. This is where the tradition of dressing up in costumes on Halloween came from.

Every year the Johannesburg Zoo celebrate this children fun-filled spooky night by dressing up for the occasion. Everyone is invited

to trick and or treat at the Zoo:

Date: 28 October 2005

Time: Between 06h00 pm and 08h00pm

Venue: Bandstand

Dress Code: Scary, very scary costumes

Fee: Zoo entrance fees apply.

For more information and to confirm your attendance, please contact Sophia Mtshali, Events Officer on 646 2000 Ext 221 or sophia@jhbzoo.org.za.
