Forrest Floor Exhibit; Johannesburg Zoo goes to the Heart of Africa.
Johannesburg, December 1, 2004
Yet another exciting development at the Johannesburg Zoo, “we have gone to Central Africa for inspiration for our new Forrest Floor Exhibit” Johannesburg Zoo CEO, Jennifer Gray said.
The Forest Floor Exhibit is a new animal enclosure that consists of four rare and endangered species, namely, Sitatunga, Bongo, Red River Hog and Red Duiker. The exhibit is uniquely designed to simulate the natural environment of these species, and boast with excellent animal behaviour enrichment.
A great deal of emphases was also placed on visitor experience as well. The wooden walkways run over four enclosures, creating an adventure atmosphere. You never know what you will see next! In the middle of these enclosures there is an exotic bird aviary, to create the right ambience.
